Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information OKAT Media collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than legal padding.

1. Who is responsible for your data
OKAT Creative Media Hub, trading as OKAT Media, of Kumasi, Ghana (registration number BN851390923, Ghana Post GPS AD-065-9548), is the data controller for the information described here.

We do not buy contact lists, and we do not collect special-category information such as health or religious belief. Where a project involves filming people, obtaining their consent is handled as part of that project and agreed with you in advance.
3. Why we use it
- To do the work quote, deliver and support your project.
- To get paid issue invoices, take payment and keep accurate accounts.
- To communicate answer enquiries and tell you where your project stands.
- To meet legal obligations tax and anti-money-laundering record keeping.
- To improve the site understand which pages are used, in aggregate.
Our lawful bases are performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, and our legitimate interest in running and improving the studio. We do not send marketing email you did not ask for.
4. Payment information
Card and mobile money payments are processed by Paystack, a licensed payment service provider. Your card number, CVV and PIN are entered on Paystack's own secure checkout.
OKAT Media never sees, handles or stores your full card details. What reaches us is a confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, the method, and a masked reference we use to match the payment to your invoice.

5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that make the studio run, and only as far as each needs:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website uses privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics from Vercel to count page views and measure loading performance. It does not set advertising cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build a profile of you.
Where we operate a client portal, a strictly necessary cookie keeps you signed in. It exists only to hold your session and cannot be switched off without signing you out.
7. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become projects up to 12 months.
- Project files and correspondence at least 12 months after delivery, so you can come back for a re-export.
- Invoices and transaction records at least five years, as required of businesses accepting payments in Ghana under the Bank of Ghana's anti-money-laundering guidance, and for tax purposes.
8. Security
Client records are held in access-controlled systems where each account can reach only its own data, enforced at the database level rather than only in the interface. Files are stored privately and shared through expiring links rather than public URLs. Access is limited to the people working on your project.
No system is perfect. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the Data Protection Commission promptly.
9. Your rights
Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need. Subject to records we are legally required to keep.
- Object to a particular use, or ask us to restrict it.
- Withdraw consent where we relied on it.
- Complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
Email info@okatmedia.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge.
10. Information leaving Ghana
Some providers listed above host data outside Ghana. Where that happens we rely on providers that offer contractual data-protection commitments and recognised security standards.
11. Children
This site and our services are aimed at businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Where a project involves filming minors, consent is obtained from a parent or guardian as part of that project.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated directly.
