Working with OKAT
What does OKAT Media actually do?
We are a creative studio in Kumasi, Ghana working across six disciplines: video and motion, brand and identity, websites and web apps, events and campaigns, and social media content and print.
In practice that means anything from a single product video to a full brand rollout: key art, billboards, social cutdowns and the website it all lives on. You can see the range on our work page.
Who do you usually work with?
Businesses, event promoters, churches and ministries, medical and diagnostic services, restaurants and retailers. Some are one-off projects; several are long-running partnerships.
We have worked with over 20 brands across Ghana and beyond. The named list is on our about page.
Do you work with clients outside Ghana?
Yes. We are based in Kumasi and work remotely with clients anywhere. Briefing, reviews and hand-off all happen online, and we invoice in your currency where we can.
For shoots that need us physically present outside Greater Kumasi, travel and accommodation are quoted separately and agreed before anything is booked.
How do I start a project?
Message us on WhatsApp or email info@okatmedia.com with what you are trying to achieve, roughly when you need it, and the budget you have in mind. A person replies, not a ticket queue.
We will come back with questions, then a written quote setting out scope, price, timeline and what we need from you.
How long does a project take?
It depends entirely on scope, and the quote states the timeline for your specific job. As a rough guide: a single social video is usually days, a brand identity is usually weeks, and a website or a full campaign rollout is usually several weeks.
Timelines start when the deposit clears and we have the material we need from you, not when the quote is accepted. Delays in feedback or assets move the delivery date by the same amount.
Pricing and payment
How much does a project cost?
We quote per project rather than publishing a rate card, because a two-day shoot and a six-week brand build are not comparable. The quote is fixed for the scope it describes and is valid for 30 days from the date we send it.
If the scope changes mid-project, we tell you what it costs before we do the work, never after.
How does payment work?
Project work is 50% deposit to begin, balance on delivery. The deposit confirms your slot in the schedule and covers the work up to first presentation. The balance falls due when the final files are ready to hand over.
Retainers and ongoing partnerships are billed monthly in advance. Every payment is against a numbered invoice.
What payment methods do you accept?
Mobile money (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money), bank transfer, and card (Visa and Mastercard) through our payment processor.
Card and mobile money payments are handled by Paystack. Your card details are entered on Paystack's secure checkout and are never seen, handled or stored by OKAT Media.
What currencies can I pay in?
Ghana Cedi (GHS) by default. We can invoice in other currencies (USD, GBP, EUR, CAD and others) where our processor supports collection in that currency. Ask when you request the quote and we will confirm before issuing it.
Do your prices include VAT or levies?
Every quote and invoice states plainly whether tax is included, and itemises any levy separately. If you need a specific tax treatment for your own accounts, tell us before we issue the invoice.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, in the circumstances set out in our refunds and cancellations policy. In short: before work starts, your deposit comes back in full. After work starts, we refund the part we have not yet done.
Projects and delivery
How many rounds of changes do I get?
Two revision rounds per asset are included in every project. A round means one consolidated set of feedback from you, actioned by us.
Further rounds are quoted separately. We tell you when you have reached the limit and what the next round would cost, before doing the work. You will never find an unexpected charge on your invoice.
Who owns the finished work?
All final creative belongs to the client once the invoice is settled in full. You get the delivered files and the right to use them however you need, with no ongoing licence fee to us.
Third-party elements we license on your behalf (stock footage, music, fonts) carry the licence terms of their original owner, and we tell you what those are.
Do I get the source and project files?
Delivered files come in the formats your job needs: print-ready PDFs, platform-sized video exports, web assets, logo files in vector and raster.
Editable project files (After Effects compositions, layered design files, raw footage) are not part of a standard delivery, because they are working files rather than the product. They can be included if you ask up front, and we price it into the quote.
How is work delivered?
Through a private link, or a shared drive for large video. You are told when something is ready to review and when the final files are available.
Where a project is invoiced with a balance on delivery, review copies are available immediately and the full-resolution final files unlock when the balance is settled.
How long do you keep my files?
We keep project files for at least 12 months after delivery so you can come back for a re-export or a resize. Raw footage on a large shoot may be archived or returned to you sooner. We agree that at the time.
Keep your own copy of anything you cannot replace. We are not a backup service.
Will you show my project in your portfolio?
Usually yes, once it is public. If your work is confidential or you would rather we did not, say so and we will keep it out, no argument, no fee.
